Thomas Freudenmann

As Managing Partner and Chief Visionary Officer (CVO), Thomas has been active in the fields of semantic web, AI-based algorithms, and digital business models for over 10 years. His journey began in 2008 as a member of the research staff at IPEK – Institute of Product Engineering Karlsruhe at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).

While at IPEK, he also lectured to KIT students — something he still greatly enjoys. For Thomas, teaching is a way to guide the younger generation toward the future and its possibilities.

He earned his doctorate in 2014 with a thesis titled Ontologies to validate products based on the Contact & Channel approach (C&C²-Approach).

Beyond his deep technical expertise, Thomas is also the driving force behind EDI’s marketing and sales activities.

From Start-Up to Grown-Up

As part of the lecture "International Business Networks for Computer Scientists", Dr. Thomas Freudenmann, CVO and co-founder of EDI, gave a lecture today at the University of Applied Science Karlsruhe (HKA) to students of the Faculty of Computer Science and Business Informatics. On the basis of different exciting use cases, he showed the path of EDI from university (KIT, Karlsruhe) to a rapidly developing start-up, up to the successful grow-up in the field of artificial intelligence that the company represents today. The difference is made by EDI Scrum 2.0, the agile method developed by EDI, which makes it possible to develop data-driven products very flexible and quickly, delivering a fast return on investment.
