Mariem Mounir
Mariem, originally from Morocco and now based in Karlsruhe, Germany, works remotely for EDI and thrives in an environment where innovation is encouraged. She values the creativity, trust, and open collaboration with her small team, alongside Mohanad El-Haji and Tobias Quentel. At EDI, Mariem focuses on neural networks, deep learning, and object recognition, constantly learning and growing. Her journey to EDI started with a passion for engineering and a focus on "Data Science and Digitalization." After completing an internship at EDI in 2020, she joined full-time in 2022. At EDI, she is empowered to make an impact and explore new ideas.

Sebastián Garavano
Sebastián, originally from Argentina and based in Balcarce, enjoys the freedom of working remotely for EDI. As a self-taught expert in React JS, Node JS, Ruby on Rails, Python, Kubernetes, and Selenium, he uses his skills to excel as a software architect. Sebastián leads the core services team, overseeing task planning, code reviews, and software testing, while also engaging in various DevOps tasks. His journey to EDI began during his studies, where he worked at a research institute in collaboration with KIT in Karlsruhe. There, he met Heinrich Blatt, EDI's COO, who offered him the opportunity to become one of EDI’s first employees.

Valeriia Bauer
Valeriia, originally from Kyrgyzstan and based just outside Karlsruhe, enjoys the flexibility of working remotely for EDI. She thrives in problem-solving and programming, and appreciates the organization and planning that define her role. As team lead of the application team, she manages the Python-based Django apps and coordinates the sprint process. Valeriia is passionate about software testing and values the recognition her work receives. Projects like the Well-Being Barometer allow her to make a real difference. Her journey to EDI began with distance learning at KSTU and experience in team leadership and project management. After connecting with Mohanad through a language-learning website, she completed two internships at EDI before securing a full-time contract.

Hitomi Bremmer
Hitomi, originally from Japan and based in Karlsruhe, appreciates EDI's openness to new ideas, regardless of staff experience. She enjoys the flexibility of taking on various roles, from marketer and photographer to UX researcher and UI designer. At EDI, she works in an agile environment with one-week sprints and the option to choose where she works, whether from home or the office. As a UI developer, she contributes to the EDI hive IoT framework and the EDI website, while also performing UX quality gates, writing user stories, and visualizing processes through storyboards. Hitomi's journey to EDI began in 2018 when she met Thomas and Mohanad in Osaka, where she worked as a web designer and photographer. After completing the Google UX Designer Course and working on a trial basis with a working holiday visa, she fell in love with EDI and has stayed in Germany.

Armin Baehr
Armin, based in Karlsruhe, enjoys the flexibility of working from home while spending time in the office weekly. As a data scientist, he thrives on solving complex problems and developing AI models that bring real value to customers. His work is visible on the EDI hive framework, where he guides projects from concept to deployment, collaborates on Python code, and ensures the best ML methods are used. He appreciates EDI’s international team and opportunities for personal growth. Armin’s journey began with a mechanical engineering degree at KIT, where he met Thomas Freudenmann at a conference. A LinkedIn connection led to an opportunity at EDI, and he has been shaping AI-driven solutions ever since.
